ki to indicate direction towards

The particle ki can be used to indicate direction towards something (in the same way that i can be used to indicate direction away from something):

Haere ki te rūma horoi.
Go to the bathroom.

Kei te haere ngā tamariki ki Ōtaki.
The children are going to Ōtaki.

Kei te heke iho a Ataahua ki raro.
Ataahua is heading down to the bottom.

Ka haere tāua ki te pura kaukau.
Shall we go to the pool.

Inanahi ke haere atu ia mai i Rotorua ki Pōneke.
Yesterday, he went from Rotorua to Wellington.

I whāia ia tāna hōiho ki te awa.
He chased his horse to the river.

Āpōpō, ka haere au ki te kura.
Tomorrow, I will go to school.

Nei rā te mihi ki a kōrua.
Here indeed is my acknowledgement to you both.

Engari i mua i te haere ki te marae, i hoki au ki te kāinga ki te kohikohi i aku taputapu.
But before going to the marae, I returned home to pack my gears.

Kei te haere ia ki te hokomaha ki te hoko i ngā kai.
He's going to the supermarket to buy food.

Ka rere atu tāna tama ki a Taika.
Taika's son rushed off to him.

E tata ana rāua ki Te Whanganui-a-Tara.
They were approaching Wellington.

Tītaha ki tērā taha.
Leaning to that side.

Kei te haere a Raureka ki te kura.
Raureka is going to school.

Ngā mihi manahau ki a kōrua.
Delighted greetings to you both.

Haere mai ki tō Koro, e Pita!
Come here to your Grandad, Pita!

I homai te koroua i te moni ki a māua.
The old man gave the money to us (two, but not to you the listener).

I kawea mātou e Aroha ki te tāone.
Aroha took us to town.

Ka kaha ake taku hāereere haere mā raro, ka iti ake hoki taku haere ki ngā toa.
I walk more, and I go to the shops less.

Kua haere koe ki te toro atu i a Aria?
Have you been to visit Aria?

Kei te haere māua ki te hokomaha. Kei te hia haere mai kōrua?
We're going to the supermarket. Do you want to come?

Haere ki tōku tari tatari ai.
Go to my office and wait.

Kei te whakaaro ia ki te haere ki te moana.
He is thinking of going to the sea.

Ka nui te mihi ki a tātou.
Greetings to us all.

He haere ki te awa, he haere rānei ki te tāone Nan.
We will go to the river or go to town, Nan.
