Simple sentences: future tense - ka

The future tense is usually indicated with the tense marker ka:

Ka haere au.
I will go.

Ka waiara ia.
She will sing.

Ka āhua māuiui a Rangi.
Rangi will be somewhat sick.

Ka whana te tama i te pōro.
The boy will kick the ball.

Ka tino pai ia.
He or she will be very good.

Ka tino matekai koe.
You will be very starving.

Ka āhua hiakai a Hēmi.
Hēmi will be somewhat hungry.

Ka hoki tātou ki te marae.
We all will return to the marae.

Ka inu koe i te miraka.
You will drink the milk.

Ka māharahara koe.
You will be anxious.

Ka ngaki au i te māra.
I will weed the garden.

Ka pukumahi ahau.
I will be busy.

Ka tiki au i te kete kākahu.
I will fetch the clothes basket.

Ka haere tonu ia a tērā tau.
He will go next year.

Ka māngere ahau.
I will be lazy.

Ka oma ia?
Will he/she run?

Ka tino wera ahau.
I will be very hot.

Ka haere tātou ki te tāone i te nei.
We (3+you) will go to town tonight.

Ka tino ora ahau.
I will be very well.

Ka tino māharahara koe.
You will be very anxious.

Ka āhua hiainu ia.
He or she will be somewhat thirsty.

Ka tuhi ai i te īmera ākuanei.
I will write the email shortly.

Ka āhua mokemoke koe.
You will be somewhat lonely.

Ka āhua makariri a Mere.
Mere will be somewhat cold.

Ka pūkana mai ngā tāngata e haka ana.
The people who are doing the haka will do fierce facial expressions.

Ka haere ia ki Amerika.
He will go to America.

Ka whakaweto te koroua i ngā rama ā te 10 karaka.
The old man will turn the lights off at 10 o'clock.

Ka pai koe.
You will be good.

Ka haere te iwi ki te hui kia kōrero ngā kaumātua.
The iwi will travel to the meeting so the elders can talk.

Ka tino māuiui a Rangi.
Rangi will be very sick.

Ka tākaro ngā tamariki ki waho.
The children will play outside.

Ka hiainu koe.
You will be thirsty.

Ka āhua hiakai ia.
He or she will be somewhat hungry.
