Hei is used for future location, and to indicate the reason for an object or the future role or job of a person.
It can also be used to give the reason for an action.
Kei te haere ahau ki te toa hei hoko i tētahi kakau.
I am going to the shop in order to buy some clothes.
This structre only works with transitive verbs (buy, read, write, sing) and not with intransitive verbs (jump, stand, run, fall, sleep).
